What we predominantly talk and think about programmes our subconscious mind, which is, in effect, a computer that runs the programming our conscious mind gives it. I used to go around telling anyone who would listen ‘I am a nervous horse rider’ and guess what? My subconscious took that on board and went out of its way to make sure I thought of all my past experiences that confirmed this and that I noticed all my current experiences that did as well! Any ‘brave’ moments or successes simply bypassed my conscious mind.
Our subconscious minds are helpful like that; we are continually shown what we are looking for, what we believe, think and talk about. We create our own cage, we limit ourselves by what comes out of our own mouths. ‘I will NEVER be able to do that’, ‘That looks really scary, I couldn’t EVER do that’. Start becoming consciously aware of what you say and think with regards to your confidence; that is the first step. The second step is removing unhelpful statements and words from your thoughts and conversations and replacing them with helpful words instead. What do you habitually say that is keeping you stuck in your cage? I am not asking you to lie to yourself or others. Telling everyone I was a confident rider was fooling no one, what I started to say was ‘I am working on my confidence’, ‘I am not confident enough to do that yet’. The other side of this is the law of attraction. We are energy, everything in the Universe is energy, thoughts and words are energy. When we send out negative or unhelpful words we are going to energetically attract more of the same back to us so it makes sense that we need to start paying attention to what we are thinking and saying on a consistent basis. Start using positive words you want to move towards, positive words will attract positive experiences. Give it a go and start noticing what happens as a result. Comments are closed.
